Paige Arnof-Fenn, Mavens & Moguls

Mavens & Moguls is a global strategic marketing consulting firm that is completely virtual. Paige Arnof-Fenn, its owner, started her business right after the dot-com bust as a way to help companies with marketing challenges find higher caliber talent on an as needed basis. She was able to help people because she had made a lot of friends during her days as head of marketing at 3 startups and as a marketer at P&G and Coca Cola.  Clients liked her concept and came back for more. Today, Mavens & Moguls has grown to 4 dozen engaged CMOs and senior marketing staff working in high-level marketing jobs in 14 cities in the US as well as overseas.

A ROLODEX IS LIKE GOLD IN ANY ECONOMY
Paige sees herself as a brand strategist who loves building strong brands and great teams, she also happens to have a terrific rolodex and stellar reputation so she can pick up the phone or connect with just about anyone based on the strength of her relationships.. There is nothing proprietary about her business model, it is actually quite simple but delivering great results from high quality talent never goes out of style in any economic cycle.

Aside being seasoned marketers, most have 20+ years in the field; she looks for straight shooters, type A people who will do a great job without being prodded, and who can be trusted. “Clients know they are getting a great value by hiring us, all the experience without the overhead. “   Many of her staff have great skills but are not interested in full time jobs because they prefer consulting to a variety of companies, or have to care for young children or older parents. Others have left corporate life to write or pursue other goals but still like to make money utilizing their skills and experience.

HER BUSINESS IS A PLATFORM FOR DOING WHAT SHE LOVES
Paige feels she is essentially in the relationship business. She spends most of her time traveling to meet with customers, networking, generating more leads and business. “Once you have a seat at the table and have their trust, you see all your customer’s problems and this opens up even more opportunities to help. In today’s’ climate your real assets are your contacts, your relationships, and your reputation, this is the gold.” She sees Mavens & Moguls as a “platform to do the things I enjoy, like speaking, writing, serving on boards. Being an entrepreneur as  the founder & CEO of a marketing consulting business allows me to do work I love, what a gift.”
